We are beginning February with some exciting news. At our 11 a.m. worship service this Sunday, Feb. 2, you will have the opportunity to meet our new music director, Marissa Mathia.
Marissa is an adjunct instructor and collaborative pianist at East Tennessee State University, educated in Oklahoma and Nebraska. Her biography can be found here.
She will lead the choir, of course, and also help us develop a program for Christian music outreach and education in our community.
Marissa is providing support on the piano this week, and will take charge of the choir Wednesday night. Again, if you've been wanting to join the choir, now is a great time to start!
Let's be praying for her as she brings her gifts and graces to our community.

Here are the sermon passages the pastor plans to preach in February:
Feb. 2 "Too Close to Home" Luke 4:21-30
Feb. 9 "Witnesses" 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Feb. 16 "Topsy-Turvy" Luke 6:17-26
Feb. 23 "Purposes" Genesis 45:3-15
Please put Saturday, Feb. 22 on your calendars. Holston View will be hosting a MIssions Day brought to us by MidSouth Conference leaders. There will be separate sessions for youth, children and their leaders.
We expect the event to run from 9 a.m. to about 1 p.m.
