Sandwiches and Other Cool Stuff

This is Pastor Chuck again. Some brief news items:

Don't forget about our very informal get-together this Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. We will be sharing sandwiches and salads we bring, and being good Methodists, desserts certainly will be welcome and available. Feel free to bring guests, too!

Originally we had planned to be in Howard Hall, but we are now thinking the fellowship hall will be more comfortable.

Plan to linger if you like board games, and if you have a favorite, bring it along!

Hometown boy Isaac Stapleton (I'll bet he hates being called that) is scheduled to preach in both services Sunday, July 14. I hope most of you are aware that Isaac has been working for Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship on the University of Virginia campus this past year. Mark your calendars. I'm sure you'll all want to hear what he has to say.

We will provide additional details soon on how we can support Isaac in his ministry work in the coming year.

This is mostly a prayer request: The GMC MidSouth Annual Conference begins this Sunday evening and goes through Tuesday. Please keep this important gathering in your prayers as we worship together as conference representatives and make decisions regarding the business of the conference. I and Connie will be there, as will David and Kathryn Bowden.

If you purchased items at our flea market, and those items are still in the church building, please pick them up as soon as possible.

We will continue this month's emphasis on stories from the Book of Daniel this Sunday, learning about the deeper meaning of the "writing on the wall."

Blessings on you all!
